WHAT WE DO

Amara QS provides the full scope of Quantity Surveying services, this includes but is not limited to: Feasibility Studies, cost planning, contract admin, contract services and ancillary services.

COST PLANNING

Project budget is determined by compiling: Order of Magnitude Estimates (OME) based on high level concept designs or Elemental Estimates where there is further design development of concept drawings.

CONTRACT ADMIN

Advise on the method of procuring tenderers, prepare tender enquiry document (comprising contractual conditions, bills of quantities, etc.) and advise on the selection of a successful tenderer. Assess contractor’s claim and preparation of monthly valuation certificates.

ANCILLARY SERVICES

Empowerment Consulting. Valuations of buildings for insurance purposes. Rentable area measurement and certification. Watching brief services. Pricing and estimating for Contractors.

FEASIBILITY STUDY

Compile and present to the end user, to evaluate the success of a project.

CONTRACT SERVICES

Cost management and control to ensure delivery of the project within budget.

WHO WE ARE

AMARA Quantity Surveyors was formed by young and motivated individuals who are driven to provide value-added services to the Client.  AMARA Quantity Surveyors is a registered company and a proud Level 1 BBBEE contributor.

NIMISHA AMRATHAL

The South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (Pr. 2533).

The Association of South African Quantity Surveyors (3190).

After graduating in 1991, Nimisha began her career at a partnership PQS firm where she gained basic quantity surveying knowledge whilst employed as a Candidate Quantity Surveyor.

In 1995 Nimisha joined a medium sized PQS firm as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and in 2008 she was made a Director. During her 18 years of service, Nimisha had the opportunity of being involved in many high-profile commercial, retail, residential, industrial, civil, community, and heritage projects for corporate, government and private clients. This exposure provided her with the opportunity to interact with the major consulting firms and construction companies.

AMIT BHOWAN

The South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (Pr. 4701).

After graduating in 2008, Amit began his career gaining extensive quantity surveying knowledge at a PQS firm. During this period, Amit was exposed to various projects viz; residential, hotel and leisure, sports facilities, tenant fit-outs and alterations for private and corporate clients.

Amit joined a construction company in the latter part of 2012. During this period, he gained exposure in estimating for tenders.

He also gained insight on the factors to consider when costing for green building alternatives.
